Dave Grohl releases “Play”

Foo Fighters Dave Grohl is on a mission. That mission is to showcase a lifelong obsession with music. His latest work “Play”, a two-part documentary, has been released:

“PLAY” by Dave Grohl celebrates the rewards and challenges of dedicating one’s life to playing and mastering a musical instrument. Part one opens with narrated behind the scenes footage featuring discussion of the love of playing music and the lifelong relationship with an instrument, and detailing the process and challenges of recording and filming this unique performance. “PLAY” film then segues to the titular 23-minute, one-man-band instrumental recording on which Grohl plays all seven instruments on the track, all live.

Grohl says, “It is a lifelong obsession. But, at the end of the day, just like any kid, the reward is just to play.”

The documentary features twenty-three minutes of Dave Grohl awesomeness on multiple instruments. What makes the doc even more awesome is the inclusion of kids from Join the Band playing and talking about their love of music along with Grohl narrating. Fans will be able to purchase a limited edition vinyl version of “Play” on September 28th. The LP is available for pre-order and a digital version is available for download.
