AC/DC Postage Stamps, Gene Simmons New Book, Lynyrd Skynyrd Documentary, and more…

Australia Post (that country’s version of our Post Office) has issued a series of stamps based on AC/DC album covers, with a bit of controversy: three of the stamps feature albums covers from U.S. releases, not the Australian originals.

Among all the other things KissGene Simmons has going on professionally, the rocker  has also been working on a book.  It is called “27: The Legend & Mythology Of The 27 Club” and comes out on August 14th.  It’s his take on the deaths of Jim Morrison, Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin and Rolling Stones founding member Brian Jones…the members of the so-called 27 Club of musicians who died at age 27.

Joe Walsh is putting on his second annual VetsAid concert on November 11th, Veterans Day, in Tacoma, Washington. In addition to Walsh, Don Henley, James Taylor, country superstar Chris Stapleton and rock act Haim are all scheduled to perform.  More here.

Lynyrd Skynyrd has a new documentary coming out this month! On August 18th, Showtime will feature the documentary “If I Leave Here Tomorrow” .

Another rock documentary is set to be released. Joan Jett’s Bad Reputation is set to hit theaters, iTunes, Amazon, and in-demand on September 28th.  Jett posted a trailer for her documentary.
